When you delete a file it's actually still on your hard drive. It's just hidden, waiting to be overwritten by any other piece of data. When it gets overwritten is actually just flip of the coin. If you immediately create a new file, it might take over the space or it might take over another space. You really don't know. So if you're a risk taker and you really need hard disk recovery right now, than download a computer file recovery program. Make sure it gives you a free chance to see it in action. When you get the program open do a search for the file, and hopefully it finds it. Crazy thing is, if you just downloaded the program and installed it, there's a good chance by doing that you just wrote over the deleted file. It's a catch 22 and a risk. In my opinion the best thing you can do, is stop creating, installing, deleting...stop doing anything on your computer. Hook your hard drive up to another computer usually by firewire or usb cables and install the hard disk recovery program on that computer. Once installed direct the program to look on your drive (the one you hooked up) and retrieve your files. Those are two methods. Read Best Method for Computer File Recovery and Hard Drive Recovery.
